I’ve always wanted to read a poem
Entitled “An Old Kentucky Goat”
I waited for years
For someone to write it
Actually, just one year
Because I wrote this poem
About twelve years ago
But had to wait for the internet age
Before someone published it
(And yes, even these last lines
Were written back then
I was ready for the future)
