Thanks Tara. I’ll second that “yay” for summer nights – we’re finally getting some in Minnesota.
Loverly! So understated that it enhances the sublime truth of an evening such as this. I like to think that the lack of punctuation at the end implies the long hours this evening rolls through and all the evenings to come.
If I still partook of alcohol and was painted into this picture, I would substitute the bourbon for a glass of red wine, but for the tone and imagery and scent of this poem bourbon is perfect.
Yay for summer nights!
