The box of hard candy
etched its way

into the table top,
livid as Irish pecans

embarking on
a thoughtless adventure,

able and alive,
like every beacon

readily visible
along the blue beach.

Call loudly
to the knaves

and dull witted barkers,
waving tired elbows

and genitals
from the balcony

like endangered species
walled into

soundless villages
and sleeping

with frayed memories
and homeless

black pigeons
adrift in

soundless mirrors,
with wordless voices.
