This is the first regrouping of the poets who’ve been with H and H since 1995. Classic and dreamy feeling. The beginning of the Austin era all over again with a community of writers working in a similar voice. 1st showing of Reed Posey. This cover asks the question and we use the next 4 covers trying to answer it.
Issue 20: keeps up updated on our hypnotic status

50 copies printed in Pahoa, HI 1/2002
After a long pause in H and H production it took the slow environment of a Hawaiian jungle to bring another issue to the world (all 50 of you). A raw issue done by typewriter under tiki flames. 18 pages of poetry by Shon.25, Catsull, E. Sterling, Michener and surrounding jungle poets.
Issue 19: Welcome Back

50 copies printed in Walla Walla, WA 6/00
Now, a very rare issue of Haggard and Halloo to own, so rare in fact that even hip hop stars and texas hold em high rollers would have a hard time laying their hands on a copy. The originals were lost in a Portland, OR basement fire. This issue was supposed to mark the comeback of H and H, but it didn’t happen that way. We got sidetracked and started traveling again.
Issue 18: The Velcro Indian

30 copies printed in Long Beach, CA 8/99
Dedicated to Brian Wilson, Daniel Johnston and Terrance McKenna
The last issue from the Long Beach era layed out by T. Bobcat, Shon.25 and Smokey Farris. It took 6 hours to make this one and it came out pretty well. Nice work by Ewald Murrer, klipschutz and E. Sterling in this one.
Issue 17: Dirt City

Issue 16: (andon.)

200 copies printed in Long Beach, CA 5/99
Dedicated to fog, mee-maws and people selling used sweats in the classifieds for $2 obo.
We finally go to the cardstock cover for this unique issue reminiscent of the Beatles white album. Most of the house writers are missing from this issue as H and H concentrate on publishing other unread poets. 1st appearance of Eugene Gordon Defcon. This is also a prior issue collage art special.
Issue 15: The Adventures of Hairy Wind

200 copies printed in Long Beach, CA 1/99
Dedicated to Man Ray, Sweet Burbon Daddy and travelers
H and H begin the New Year with an issue that sets the standard for quality. Lots of the regular writers mesh with poets from around the country flooding our mail-box with experimental poetry. John Sweet, Alan Catlin, B.Z. Niditch, Mark Senkus, Giovanni Molito and many others make this a really good and well accepted issue. 1st appearance of Smokey Farris.
Issue 14: Ojos Negros

200 copies printed in Long Beach, CA 8/98
Dedicated to Tippetarius, Richard Brautigan and Death Valley
One of the best collage issues ever. This issue is reviewed by underground press sources and prints some of the small press middle-weights of the time with Mark Sonnenfeld, Daniel Crocker and Laura Joy Lustig. This is the first of many appearances by Dirk Michener aka, Cavedweller.
Issue 13: Castaway Shadows

150 copies printed in Long Beach, CA 4/98
Dedicated to Jack Micheline and Ash
Another good issue by the newly formed team, but we add a couple stray poets with the birth of Pops Marooni and J. of Fire. With this issue Haggard and Halloo gains a foothold in the small press world and begins to receive submissions thru a word of mouth advertising campaign.
Issue 12: Shrink To Fit

100 copies printed in Long Beach, CA 2/98
Dedicated to Rod Serling, Joan Miro and D.C. Berman
The first issue of a new and larger team of Haggard and Halloo poets. T. Bobcat, Shon.25, Senataur Ferguss, Koo-Koo, J. Mcluv and Suzy Rutabaga come together at once. 1st appearances of E. Sterling. This is a landmark issue and the start of the great “Long Beach, CA Era.”
Issue 11: Architects of the Next History

1st printing of 50 in Delft, Holland 6/97 2nd printing of 150 in Austin, TX
Dedicated to Denton Welch, Tom Waits, Innocent Prisoners
The first “foreign issue” w/ new poems by T. Bobcat, Liquid Sunshine, Agent Unknown aka Sir Wildman. A busy layout surrounds a few beat poets too.
Issue 10: Dragon Fresh (avoid the dog)

1st printing of 50 in Long Beach, CA. 2nd printing of 150 in Austin, TX 1997
Dedicated to Nikola Tesla and Scooty Booty
A great issue designed by Shon.25. Lots of good Liquid Sunshine poetry, but mostly famous work. A couple poems by Catsull under various psuedonyms.
Issue 9: Free Ghiyla Monster

150 copies printed in Dallas, TX 11/96
Dedicated to Robby Van Winkle and Aunt Mink
This was going to be the final issue of Haggard and Halloo for traveling reasons, but it only marked the half-way point. The issues begin to get longer as people start to respond and submit original poetry. Lots of famous poets reprinted in this issue, Blake, Auden, Kerouac, WCW. This is also the issue where the term “style of fog” was born. Koo-Koo, Ferguss, T.Bobcat, Shon.25 write for this one. 1st appearance of Suzy Rutabaga, aka Dolly Vardon of the Dolly Vardon Hotel.
Issue 8: The Mystery Of Us

A very special issue that was created for the future. It’s not for sale, you don’t have one, but expect to hear about this issue in the distant distance.
Issue 7: Strung Out

500 Copies printed in Dallas, TX 9/96
Dedicated to Josh Lane and Jai Buranaphan
A great issue because the collage work is starting to look nice. The first issue J.Mcluv, aka Funky B appears. One poem by Ferguss because T. Bobcat and Liquid Sunshine fill most of this issue. On the back of the cover is a young picture of Haggard and Halloo. This is one of the largest print runs H and H ever made when they gained access to a corporate copy room one weekend.
Issue 6: A Man, A Plan, A Canal, Panama

125 copies printed in Dallas, TX 1996
This is the 1st great issue of Haggard and Halloo. The cover is a transparency dedicated to Visnu. Of course the ink eventually wore off the transparency leaving you a blank page, but here we begin to take the zine seriously.
Issue 5: The Broken Robot

100 copies printed in Dallas, TX 1996
Dedicated to Tim Leary and Grandfathers
The first issue under the name Haggard and Halloo. Catsull, Shon.25 aka Dude Stagnot, Ferguss, Koo-Koo, Agent Unknown aka John Constantine blend together w/ a couple famous poets to make this issue a pretense of a higher quality zine. Haggard and Halloo begin dedicating each issue to someone in particular and take more time in creating the cover.
Issue 4: California All the Way

50 copies printed in Dallas, TX 1996
Collage art was added to this issue and the cut and paste style that makes H and H so unique was born. The zine moved to 12 pages to hold the first decent works of Catsull and Shon.25, the only writers for this issue.
Issue 3: Upper Class (Daddy was a cowboy)

50 copies printed in Denton, TX 1995
Shon.25, aka Liquid Sunshine blows a gust of wind into the sail and joins Ferguss and Catsull forever. The voice of the still unnamed zine diversifies and everyone begins to write more, but it was time to move.
Issue 2: Minimum Wage (Tales from the G5)

20 copies printed in Denton, TX 1995
Still in the G5 efficiency, but with more occupants, the poetry scope expands to new members. Koo-Koo, aka ET, aka Etage and Agent Unknown join Catsull and Ferguss for another 8 pages of poetry and clip-art.
Issue 1: The Time Traveler (or so it will be convenient to speak of him)
Copies are $25

20 copies printed in Denton, TX Summer 1995
The idea comes to Travis Catsull and Senataur Ferguss (aka Oswald James) to create a poetry zine. From an efficiency nestled on the University of North Texas campus we feature our favorite writers with our own poetry and drawings. 8 poems later an unnamed zine begins to appear in Denton, TX.
