Words Speaking Louder than Actions

Words Speaking Louder than Actions
by Bryon Howell
Well, it looks
like
we’ve finally solved
that big problem.
The poetry!
Just a hint of
angst
and again
I’d be tap tap tapping
my heart away,
thoughts driving cars
down my veins
to the tips of my
fingers,
opening the doors
but not being able
to get out –
only to discover
there’s no where
else to go.
The cars won’t
re-start,
and each and
every one of them
has to
endure
to slow crawl
back up
to where they
started from.
Ultimately,
finally –
all of them would
mysteriously appear
on my computer screen
in a document
of some kind –
complete with my
name,
physical address,
phone number,
BIO,
and of course
all of our business –
all ready
and waiting
to be
jettisoned
into someone’s
personal crater
of cyber-space.
Who knew?
Me –
some big
cyber pimp
hustling our
life and times
out
for a quick
post!?
All to be
read
by someone or
someones
neither of us
will never know.
After careful
consideration
and review of your
heated verbal
manuscript,
I have decided –
you’re right.
Minus the creative
expression –
minus the time
I put into the
poetry –
minus my own
personal driving
need,
which has its
own set of wheels,
it is without a doubt –
the biggest
invasion of our personal
privacy.
An the worst
part about it?
Try: Mea Culpa
I promise,
from now on,
I will never
submit
another poem
I write –
about us –
ever-
to anyone –
in the entire –
cyber universe.
However,
I do hope you
realize
this new pact
of ours
presents
an even bigger,
more complicated
problem.
Just how
am I supposed
to let the rest of
the world know –
how much I love you?
And – AND!
There is no poet
in the world
who should be
getting
more poems
about his cat
published
than about
his
life partner –
ever!
