Document two

By V.Gregory Richardson

I want to torch this place;
this city set it ablaze,
and hopes it leaves no one alive.
If I could I would kiss you good bye.
I will say your name a loud, scream with me.
Be passionate about the moment at hand.
With both arms around your corpse I wait for forgiveness.
Trust the night, come back with me.
Don’t forget the way it made you feel,
remember the stench.
Rotten disposition,
the nature of the beast,
the way it was and the way it must be.
Mothers light is all we have,
I linger for the sun.
I remain with head high and chest out,
break me if you can father.
I won’t forget and I will not forgive.
The damage has been done and the fire has been lit.
Now we will watch it burn.
