what they mean to say when they break your heart
what they mean to say when they break your heart
by steven dondlinger
When I say I don’t love you
I mean you aren’t special. You are
like any other person on the street.
You are both unimportant
and unattractive unless I am
(a) drunk
(b) lonely
(c) far away from home
In which case, you are comforting at best
but only when I am feeling insecure.
That is why I have decided to tell you this.
I am interested in other people, because other people
are more interesting to me. Time has dulled
our love. I have put this off
for a long time, and if I don’t say this now
we will have to get married.
I’ve been on the ass-end of this monolouge before.
This is great, even if I don’t understand wy the line breaks are where they are.
this almost hurt my feelings.
i totally enjoy the honesty in this. especially the statement that many people marry out of habit or some other thoughtlessness, lack of motivation, lack of self-examination, or dishonesty.
