The Good Ol' Days (and Nights)

The Good Ol’ Days (and Nights)
by phil
we would burst from our sleep to day light staring us in the face.
so we would get high enough to stare back.
almost everyday we would stare the sun down,
all the way

until the sun started to run away.
and each time we were up there so high
laughing in the suns face
she would say, lets stay up here all night.
lovely idea, i would reply.
so we got high enough to
reach the moon
and there we would lay,
tied together like shoelaces,
sinking into dreams that way.
