I call you out into the yard
to look at the eclipse.
We have always stood
between ourselves and happiness.

If poetry is to be short–then this is the way to do it. I’m a big fan of aphorism meshed into poetry–here, it IS the poem. Yard:eclipse/ourselves:happiness. Simple, to the point. Yet lots to take in like a fast growing organism planted in the mind.
When i’m off kilter, out of center, i feel this ‘seperation’ keenly. When we’re at peace in our own skin and just ‘know’ that we are meant to be–that’s when happiness envelopes.
Great piece!
