double bind

double bind
by Lisa Munson
you my sister
come hold me tight
even Maria’s wimple
eschews
Einstein’s matrix
instead surrenders to
sweetest dreams
lullabye prayers
bees and trees doing it
noises in the night
snaps brain shut
hermetically sealed
like Madonna’s purity
until sky is sliced open
like C-section
birthing lux aeterna
and you weary
wearing leather
stillettoes with lily motif
underneath burlap habit
