Lagoon
Lagoon
by Stephanie Sears
Lagoon, palimpsest of heaven
on which a thousand lithe visions of sun
come to rest in hallowed epics.
No boat’s dark form keeps the mind’s compass
from the core of nature:
surf, shimmer, ondulation,
glory sung on the white helix of the reef.
Very classic feeling. Glad I stumbled back onto this for a reread as I’m heading to the beach soon. Hoping to see “a thousand lithe visions of sun come to rest in hallowed epics.”
