because I said so

because I said so
by Halifax
so I say
you asked
and in so asking grant
me the privilege
the prerogative
to speak an answer
as was said
one night when together
I broached with ,”so…”
and away we went
asking, granting,
the privilege
knowledge of each other
brought
so as you, you by-product,
bought and lawfully taken
by asking and granting,
delve into the nature
of my furtive reasoning
the why’s and how’s
unreasonably wise
howling for answers
given an infuriating reply
“because I said so”
and in so speaking
caused to be the reason
you are seeking
speaking to me now
unreasonably proud
and certain there is more
but no, there is not
it is simply so
