Submissions Wanted: Austin Writers Anthology for Black Heart Magazine
Attention Austin writers! Black Heart seeks contributions for our upcoming Austin Writers Anthology. Chosen works will be published in a variety of digital formats (like our new NOIR anthology, available through Smashwords), and will feature both established and up-and-coming writers.
THEME: Your sense of place in Austin, Texas. Write about the Austin you know and love, the Austin that frustrates you, the Austin where you hang out with friends and family, the Austin you most desire to see on the page or aspire to achieve in the real world. Share YOUR Austin with the world.
WORD LIMIT: Up to 1,000 words of fiction, nonfiction or creative nonfiction; poetry of up to 1 page (poets may send a total of 3 poems within one submission file, for a total of 3 pages)
ALSO ACCEPTING: Related images, audio and video for possible inclusion in the anthology and/or on our website
NOTE: Even if you’re not FROM Austin, you can contribute a piece—so long as it’s ABOUT Austin! Current, former, and future residents welcome!
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: August 31, 2011
PUBLICATION DATE: October 2011 (tentative)
PAYMENT: All contributors will share in profits from sales of this anthology; more details on exact shares will be available as we decide which works will be included.
