The Eternal Present
by Charles Potts
At my favorite point in time
The eternal present is not some evanescent slice of life
Suspended adroitly between the hypothetical
Past and the problematical future
On a space time continuum
In the great physicist’s closet.
The eternal present stands monumentally
Outside of time,
Contains time in other words
As surely as the rest of the blithering universe
A by-product of solar flares.
