Old Dolls and Dishes
Old Dolls and Dishes
by Jordan McElheran
All these memories of you are made
of salt. They, at best, weather away like
sand would beat on porcelain; pretty—
a nice finish— but all the same on the inside.
Hollow-ish. A few impurities here and there—
but don’t we all?
It would be nice if we could
all last forever but accidents happen.
You’re not supposed to put china in
the microwave but Curtis did it and
now that piece is ruined.
