Review of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

My most absolute favorite sunday movie with one of the greatest gunfight showdowns in movie history, The Good, The Bad And The Ugly is, in my opinion, the best western ever made and also simply one of the best films of all time regardless of country of origin. Funny, atmospheric, beautifully filmed and packed with fantastic ideas carried by Leone’s wonderful eye for cinema and Ennio Morricone’s epic and unforgetable score. Every element of the film is larger than life and twice as dynamic with plenty of detail turning it into an epic of greed and testosterone fueled emotion. There are many scenes in the film that give a look inside the characters, all three as big of a bad ass as the other, in ways that lend depth to the story. Love it.
One of my favorites too! I like how the traditional concepts of protagonist and antagonist are redefined and enmeshed in a hazy grey area. ‘Atmospheric’ is a good way to describe the cinematography. Soundtrack kicks ass too!
