as she’s shaking
by D George Gawlik
she thinks of his shoulders
where his hands used to fit
she remembers how he felt
around and inside and around her and
his fingers down the small of her back
seeking her
hips to pull her to him
and kiss her goodbye
before he left for work
she dips her finger into
his blood
tastes it and thinks
this is the last time
she thinks
it will ever be so warm
and
she
moans
summoning the strength
to loosen her fingers the
gun strikes the kitchen
linoleum and
bounces
once
but it’s useless
like telling cancer
to
GO AWAY
he won’t be going
to work today
and no one
is going to kiss her
goodbye as
they go to work
this morning
the sun is
above the
roofs now
as she lifts
the gun for
one more
Use
actually, I goofed up…
LINE 2 should read
where her hands used to fit
His hands fitting around his own shoulders doesn’t make much sense…like grand-dad always said – measure twice, cut once…
i like yr lines either way…i like it when people exhibit their masculinity being uninhibited
