You get wise to life
Cut the top off your water storage tank
And make a pool
Strap a .12 gauge to a Jeep
And hunt ducks
Or anything that nears flight
Make ceviche from catfish
String a frog on a line to catch a wild cat
Maul a dog to appease the rats
This is life and when you get wise
You take action
Because action is all there is
Beat the child with a hose
So he knows life is life
And that it’s not a Disney movie
None of us have three fingers
Or white gloves
Or big black ears
Mood Ring competes with a childhood imagination of a poet’s
keen awareness of experiences in growing up.
